Abstract
311,663. Buschmann, M. May 11, 1928, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Firebridges.-A furnace firebridge is constituted by a chamber C of refractory material through which air, supplied at E, passes upwardly along a helical or sinuous path, the air thus heated being delivered over the grate G through apertures O<1> and upwardly through opening O<2>. As shown the chamber C is formed with a longitudinal partition M and the helical air passage is formed by a succession of metal plates P', P<2> -- P<n>, P<n+1>, - -. In the case, however, of a small bridge, the partition M is omitted and baffles are provided to cause the air to travel upwardly along a sinuous path.
