Abstract

310,194. Teale, J. W. May 1, 1928. Lubricant conveyed by mechanical means.-A fixed device for lubricating axles of corves and similar trucks is provided with a wheel 1, toothed or recessed to retain the lubricant, and mounted eccentrically by having a central hole larger than the spindle 2 on which it is mounted. The greater portion of the wheel is submerged in the lubricant contained in a reservoir 4 supported by brackets 6 between the rails (not shown). When the axle of the corve passes out of contact with the greasing wheel, the inertia of the lower part of the wheel minimizes its rotation, and so avoids wastage of lubricant.
