Abstract
394,616. Lubricating. DAVISON, A. S., Valley View, Dipton, and GOODALL, BATES, & TODD, Ltd., Albany Road, Gateshead, both in Co. Durham. Feb. 14, 1933, No. 4534. [Class 12 (iii).] Surplus lubricant is removed from the axles and bearings of colliery tubs by wiping means which is independent of, and separate from, the lubricator, and is positioned between the rails 'at some distance beyond the latter. The wiping means is preferably mounted resiliently. As shown in plan in Fig. 2, a pair of brushes e are fixed to a bar b pivoted at c to a container a. Springs d hold the brushes upright. As the tubs pass over the container a, the brushes e wipe excess lubricant off the axles and deliver it to the container a. Two brushes e may be mounted one in front of the other. The brushes may be held in the upright position by weights.
