Abstract

307,542. Morris Commercial Cars, Ltd., Rose, P. G., and Hamill, W. W. Dec. 10, 1927. Universal joints of the type employing a textile, rubber, &c. ring l secured to arms on the shaft ends by bolts j passing through clamping-plates n. The plates are provided with flanges o abutting upon the outer periphery of the ring l. A complete joint such as is described in Specification 306,980 is shown and comprises a centring device e, c. The parts engaging the ring l, including the plates n, are formed with serrations or projections, and the outer edges of such parts are flared to avoid damage to the ring in use.
