Abstract
303,611. Higgins, E. L. Nov. 11, 1927. Locks, attaching.-To secure a lock to a door, &c. so that it cannot be removed with the door &c. closed a plate a with rebated edges b is secured to the door &c. by screws g engaging a metal rod h inserted through the edge of the door, and the lock &c. e has a corresponding recess so that it can be slid on to the plate from the edge of the door. The plate a may be separate from, or may form part of, the lock casing. Removal in the opposite direction is prevented when the door is closed by the frame fixture &c. The screws g are concealed by the lock, which may be further secured by screws f. To limit the movement of the lock when slid into place the end d of the plate is tapered and the recess on the lock has a corresponding form. The hole through which the rod h is inserted is finished off with a screw i and plug washer j. Specification 256,696 is referred to.
