Abstract

303,532. Lazarus, S. A. July 7, 1927. Roll-holders.-In a holder for toilet paper consisting of a composite material one surface of which is absorbent and the other surface is waterproof, the roll of paper b is supported on a spindle on a bracket a and the paper is drawn from the roll and guided upwardly with its absorbent surface in contact with a drum d rotatably mounted in liquid contained in a bath c mounted on the bracket beneath the roll; the paper is guided by slots h, j formed in the bath. The bath is of closed cylindrical form and the drum, which is provided with pads i of felt &c., is mounted concentrically therein and has apertures d' in its body and ends to enable the liquid to enter and prevent the drum from rising in its bearings. The slot h is formed in a detach. able portion g of the. bath and the slot j between. the front edge thereof and the front edge of the fixed portion. The paper is guided and gripped as it issues from the slot j by the edge k<1> of a strip k hinged to the portion g and the paper is torn off against the edge k<1> which may be. serrated; the edge k<1> may be pressed against the paper by a handle k<2>. The bath is detachably mounted on the bracket by tongues l, m engaging recesses in the bracket.
