Construction; slippers. -A heel.less shoe or slipper particularly intended for children's wear, has a sole shorter than the length of the foot and a pocket 13 of upper material overhanging the rear end of the sole arranged to receive and support the wearer's heel. The upper is preferably of soft leather with a fluffy flesh surface which is on the inside of the shoe, and is composed of two parts only, the seam 20 between the two parts being abnormally forward to leave the inside waist smooth and pliable. No linings or stiffeners are employed. The inside waist is considerably hollowed. The top of the quarter may be skived on the grain side and the edge folded over outwards and cemented. The upper may be secured to the insole by one of the known methods avoiding tacks penetrating the inside and the outside cemented on.
