Abstract

Rail sections.-Rails, partacularly for high-speed suspended railways, have their webs weakened at intervals by a series of recesses so that a rail fracture follows the recesses to form an interlock. The recesses may be V, U, or C-shaped, and may extend to the head and foot of the rail. The recesses c may have holes d at their ends and vertices. Guide plates g are secured to the webs in staggered formation.
