Abstract
294,568. Soc. de Recherches et de Perfectionnements Industriels. July 26, 1927, [Convention date]. Materials and compositions for making coke.- In the low temperature distillation of coal, lignite &c., containing about 26-38 per cent of volatiles, in superheated steam at about 500‹ C., the fuel is agglomerated with a hydrocarbon, e.g. anthracene oil, which though forming no pitch at any stage produces a substantial amount of coke. The residue may be subjected to further distillation at high temperature (700-1000<0> C.) to obtain a metallurgical coke. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes the use as binder of petroleum or coal tar singly or together. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specifica. tion as accepted.
