Abstract

Centrifugal-action lubricating. -In flyer spinning or like frames wherein the flyer is supported by a bearing member 2 arranged above the flyer legs 10, oil contained within a hollow wharve 9 surrounding the lower end of the bearing is carried around against a flat spring 11 projecting from the member 2 into the path of the oil and is forced thereby through a hole 2<3> into the bearing. The spring 11 is either rigidly connected to the member 2 or is free to turn slowly thereon, and the upper end of the wharve is provided with an inwardlyextending flange 9<3> to retain the oil. As shown, a conical spindle 5 secured to the wharve is journaled in the member 2, but the spindle may be cylindrical or ball or roller bearings may be interposed between the spindle and the member 2. In a modification, the flyer is supported by ball bearings arranged between the wharve 9 and the member 2, the spring 11 serving to deflect oil on to the balls.
