Abstract
291,814. British Dyestuffs Corporation, Ltd., Shepherdson, A., Tatum, W. W., and Lodge, F. Dec. 13, 1926. Aminoanthraquinones; cellulose esters,. dyeing. -Symmetrical 1: 4-dialkyldiaminoanthraquinones are converted into products containing fewer alkyl groups by treating with concentrated sulphuric acid or sulphuric acid monohydrate alone at temperatures above 150‹ C. or in the presence of boric acid between 130‹ and 150‹ C. The products are dyestuffs for acetic silk. In a,n example, 1: 4-dimethyldiaminoanthraquinone is heated with sulphuric acid (100 per cent) at 180‹-220‹ C. and the product isolated by dilution with water; 'it dyes acetate silk in bright blue-violet shades. Specification 15355/08 is referred to.
