Abstract

287,638. Fletcher, G. H., and Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co., Ltd. Dec. 23, 1926. Brush-holders.-The invention relates to brushholders of the kind in which a rocker arm 5 pivoted upon the brushholder is caused by a spring 6 to engage a brush and press it into contact with the commutator or other collecting surface, and consists in providing the rocker arm with a spring strip 12 having a detent 13 which can be caused at will to engage with a projection 14 carried by the brush-holder when the rocker arm is withdrawn from engagement with the brush. As shown, the spring strip is attached to a pressure finger 11 upon which is formed or secured a clip 15 for restricting the movement of the spring. To cause the hook 13 to engage the projection 14, the rocker arm is. withdrawn to the position shown and pressure is applied to the spring at the point a in the direction of the arrow. To release the rocker arm, the pressure finger 11 is drawn back. Specification 250,010 is referred to.
