Abstract

118,520. Veritys, Ltd., and Allen, C. R. Nov. 17, 1917. Brush-holders.-A carbon brush is pressed against the commutator surface by a volute coiled spring of phosphor bronze or hard-drawn copper which also serves to convey the current. The spring c is enclosed in a cylindrical casing a, made partly or wholly of non-conducting material. To the narrow end of the spring is soldered a clip f, in which the brush c is held by friction. The broad end of the spring is enclosed in a metal cap g, to which is attached the lead d.
