Abstract
285,894. Roeckner, M. Feb. 25, 1927, [Convention date]. Rolling annular bodies; skew-rolling. - In a mill for rolling metal tubes from hollow blocks by drawing out the latter between a series of pairs of rolls of gradually increasing width and of adjustable working depth disposed on a helical line on the periphery of the block, e.g. as described in Specification 243,280, the guides B in which the rolls F are slidably mounted are angularly adjustable so that the rolls may work on helices of different pitch thereby enabling the mill to handle hollow blocks of various diameters. The angular adjustment of the guides is arranged for by slots in the flange E of each guide B, the guide being secured in the required position by bolts fitted in the slots.
