285,895. Roeckner, M. Feb. 25, 1927, [Convention date]. Rolling annular bodies; skew-rolling. - In a mill for rolling metal tubes from hollow blocks by drawing out the latter between a series of pairs of rolls disposed on a helical line on the periphery of the block, e.g. as described in Specification 243,280, the rolls A are provided with forward extensions B to seize the work and thus to assist in the feeding action. One or more beads F may be provided on the extension B and a rearward extension C, separated from the working portion A by a recess having an inclined wall E, may also be provided to prevent the metal displaced by the part A from being turned over on to the work.
