Abstract

284,067. Heffernan, E. Jan. 6, 1927. Stays.-For securing a casement window and the like in an adjusted position one end of the stay 9 carries projection 13 adapted to slide in the slot 14 of a guide 8 secured to the sill, the other end of the stay being formed with a plate 10 that engages between a bracket arm 5 and a loose plate 15 having a lug 16 which fits in a groove 17 of the bracket member, the plate being provided with friction material 12, such as rubber. Pressure between the members at the window-end of the stay is regulated by a clamping screw 19 which, with the boss 6, serves as a pivot.
