Abstract
283,092. Mills, F. Oct. 10, 1927. Springs, arrangement of.-Relates to the chassis for motor vehicles, side-cars and other light vehicles described in Specification 173,928 and consists in attaching the flexible connections a<2>, carrying the inner or body frame B to lugs a<1> rigid with the end rails of the outer or main frame A, and in providing a flexible strap a<3> passing beneath the frame B and connected to the side rails of the frame A by flexible connections a<4>. More than one strip may be provided, and the flexible connections a<2>, a' consist of helical springs. The frame B is suspended beneath the frame A. The cross bars of the frame A passing beneath the frame B as described in the prior Specification may be dispensed with, but if they are retained, the strap or straps a' are arranged to prevent contact of the frame B with the crossbars. The frame A, as shown, comprises a sidecar frame having a wheel-enclosing member a', the lugs a<1> serving to connect together the side and end rails of the frame.
