Abstract

262,168. Bellhouse, G. B. May 21, 1326. Skid.-k braking device for vehicles comprises. a pair of blocks 1 attached to the cranked ends 2 of a, bar 4 arranged to slide in inclined guides 11 and connected by a chain or other flexible member 7 to a winding drum 9 on a hand-wheel spindle 10. Two pairs of blocks having the chain 7 for each pair connected to a common operating means as shown may be provided. For railway vehicles and trailers not provided with a driver's seat, the hand-wheel may be disposed at the side of the vehicle.
