429,888. Vehicle wheels. HUGUENIN, A., 319, Hardstrasse, Zurich, Switzerland. Dec. 11, 1934, No. 35580. Convention date, Dec. 26, 1933. [Class 144 (ii)] A wheel for use on railway vehicles comprises a flanged rim having a series of oblique elongated apertures 3 through which project rubber tread blocks 6. The blocks, which overlap in the circumferential direction and are adapted to engage the full width of the rail 7, may be adjusted radially to compensate for wear. For this purpose, the blocks are seated on plungers 8 each fitted with two oppositelythreaded spindles 10, 15 engaging tapped bushes 11, 14 respectively, the bushes being geared together and one of them having a squared end for actuation.
