Abstract

277,121. Danielsson, A. U. S. June 11, 1926. Cam - actuated pumps; multiple - delivery piston pumps; regulating delivery by opening suction valves. -In a fuel pump for multi-cylinder engines, the delivery conduit 13 is connected successively to the cylinders bv means of a slide valve 17 and pipes 18, 19. The valve is operated by the crankshaft 2 through an eccentric 24 and lever 22. The pump plunger is driven by the shaft 2 through gearing 5, 6 and a cam 3. The amount of fuel delivered by the pump is regulated by opening the suction valve 10 by means of a rod 27 operated by a cam &c. 30 under the control of the governor 29.
