Abstract
274,706. Byne, E. Dec. 7, 1926. Tents. - A tent frame is formed of sprung arched collapsable ribs hinged together at their ends on pivots 5 and kept in arched formation by a tensioning member 10. The parts of the ribs may be hinged together for collapse by a stop hinge 12<a>, 13, Fig. 5, or both portions of the rib may be hinged separately to a common block 14b, Fig. 11, or again the parts may be connected by a flexible portion such as of leather, over which may slide a sleeve to form a rigid joint. The ribs are maintained in correct position by a stay 4 with clip portions 15, 15<a> for the ribs. The covering material is provided with flaps 8, 11 for the attachment of staying ropes 8<a> and ballast 11<a>, respectively.
