Abstract
216,857. Reichert, W. May 30, 1923, [Convention date]. Knapsacks.-A knapsack convertible into a tent has the telescopic poles c hinged to its corners so as to be universally movable and to lie inside the knapsack when collapsed. Flaps d are also provided along each side to which may be buttoned trapezoidal sheets e, which when unrolled form the sides of the tent, the knapsack forming the roof. The sheets e when rolled up are carried inside the knapsack, with the exception of one which is carried on top. A cover g is provided for the knapsack. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the use of a fabric section e<1> as a coat by slitting it along its middle for the passage of a head and providing it with a hook d, Fig. 4 (Cancelled); also the formation of a large tent from two knapsacks by supplying auxiliary trapezium shaped fabric sections q with rectangular extensions i and erecting as shown in Fig. 6 (Cancelled). This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted, but forms the subject-matter of the Patent of Addition No. 226,453.
