Abstract

271,874. L÷ffler, S. May 25, 1926, [Convention date]. Valve-chests.- To permit expansion due to heat, the cylinders are connected to the frame by means of bolts 9 with rocking, supporting members 10 on each side. The bolts 9 and members 10 are journaled in flanges on the cvlinder and frame by spherical cups and washers 11, 12 respectively. Feather keys 13 are also provided between the contacting parts. The cover 4 is secured by studs 3 having collars 6 thereon between which and the cover are interposed springs. Ball bearings are used in lieu of the members 10 in a modification. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises the application of the above means to valve-chests. This subject-matter does not occur in the Specification as accepted.
