Abstract
328,191. Pobjoy, D. R. Oct. 20, 1928. Connecting-rods. - In a connecting - rod big - end assembly in which the auxiliary rods 13 are pivoted between flanges 5 on a ring 1 mounted on the crank-pin, the pivot pins 15 of the auxiliary rods are retained by means of side plates 18 formed with projections 19, which are engaged beneath undercut projections 16 on the ring 1 by a rotary movement. The plates are then secured by means of a bolt and nut 20, 22. The master-rod 7 may be integral with the ring 1, or may be secured between the flanges of the ring 1 by hollow rivets 10, 11, through one of which the bolt 20 passes.
