271,059. Naamlooze Vennootschap Philips' Gloeilampenfabrieken. May 14, 1926, [Convention date]. Diaphragms.-A conical paper diaphragm 10 for loud-speakers is strengthened against kinking by a paper or like ribbon 11 secured under tension to the outer surface of the cone. The ribbon is applied to the material of the cone when in its flat condition, the required tension being set up when the cone is formed. Several ribbons may be secured at different points on the surface, and may be applied along determined lengths of the periphery or surround the entire cone. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that the ribbons may be applied to the inner surface of the cone. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
