Abstract

290,387. Stanley, A. Feb. 28, 1927. Sound magnifying and directing appliances. - A horn, for loud-speakers, gramophones, and like instruments, of the kind comprising an outer flared shell and an inner bodv forming an annular sound passage, has the inner body substantially pear-shaped and so disposed that the sound passage gradually increases in cross-sectional area. As shown in Fig. 2, the pear-shaped body B is secured by bridge pieces a within a bulbous flared shell C and extends nearly to the mouth of the flare. In a modification, Fig. 3, the mouth end of the body B is pointed.
