Lids.-A device for opening a tin comprises a plate, 4 pivoted to the body part at 3 and formed with curved ribs 8 adapted, when the plate is turned, to engage and raise the lower edge of the lid 2. The upper part of the plate lies between the tin body part and the flange of the lid and has spikes or teeth 5 projecting rearwardly into recesses 7 formed in the body.
