Abstract
266,710. Kretz, J. Feb. 26, 1926, [Convention date]. Vaporizers, external.-A mixture of heavy fuel and air is passed through an exhaust-heated chamber of large capacity compared with the inlet and outlet passages, so that during heating the velocity of the mixture is considerably reduced. One side of a sheet-iron casing a is connected by flanged necks c directly with the exhaust outlets of the engine. The mixture inlet pipe k and the outlet pipe l are connected, within the casing, by three pipes d, e, f arranged in parallel and forming the chamber of large capacity. The open ends g, h, i of the pipes are shouldered into the end of the casing, Fig. 3, and are secured thereto by screwed plugs m by removing which the pipes may be cleaned.
