Abstract
312,943. Green, S., Clowes, H. A., and Jones, F., (trading as Patent Silencer Co.). Dec. 1, 1927. Exhaust silencers.-The silencer comprises a casing formed in halves a, b secured together by bolts passing through holes in lugs d. The interior of the casing is divided into compartments 1, 2, 3 by transverse partitions e perforated at e<1> and having semi-circular apertures f to embrace and support tubes g, h, j, The parts of the tubes between the partitions may be perforated. Erxhaust gases enter at the end W and flow in the direction indicated by the arrows. In a modification two such silencers are employed in series. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 2996/03 and 20455/03, [both in Class 122, Steam engines], and 233,201.
