Abstract

325,326. Eastwood, R. Dec. 12, 1928. Exhaust silencers. - The silencer comprises a fan or propeller-like member p mounted on the same shaft h as a worm or screw-member s of several convolutions. The casing consists of a central portion b and end portions a c between which and the central portion are secured members e having apertures g for the gases and carrying bearings f for the shaft h. The gases impinge first on the propeller p which rotates the screw-member, whereby the gases are conveyed towards the outlet. The Provisional Specification describes a construction in which the propeller is separated from the screw-member by an apertured plate.
