Vaporizers, external.-In an internal-combustion engine provided with a relatively large conduit for the admission of mixture for normal running, mixture for slow-running is supplied through a small auxiliary conduit which is disposed in the interior of the combustion chamber. As shown, the main nozzle 2 and slow-running nozzle 1 are controlled by a throttle valve 3<1>, the main mixture supply passing through a large admission conduit T to the admission valve S, and the slow-running mixture passing through a small auxiliary conduit 4 the part 12 of which is situated on the combustion chamber and the outlet 13 of which is situated adjacent the admission valve S. The main admission conduit T is surrounded by a jacket 11, the supply of exhaust gas to which is controlled by a valve, which may be coupled to the throttle valve 3<1>, mounted in the exhaust pipe 15. A further, auxiliary conduit 21 situated in the combustion chamber may be provided for slow-running mixture, this conduit being supplied either by an auxiliary carburettor 20 or by the main carburettor, and the mixture passing through an auxiliary inlet valve 23 to a conduit 25 adjacent an auxiliary sparking plug 17 which is connected in parallel with the main sparking plug 14. The parts 21, 23, 17 are mounted in a plug 18 the removal of which allows the admission and exhaust valves S, e to be inspected.
