Abstract

265,010. Wood, H. C. Feb. 10, 1926. Gaiters. - A device for protecting the stockings from splashes, of the kind comprising in combination a gaiter-like portion and a golosh, comprises a gaiter portion 5 of thin, flexible, and preferably waterproof material attached to a golosh 2 adapted to cover only the sole and upper part of the shoe and provided with a strap 3 passing round the back of the shoe and designed to prevent the upper portion 5 from wrinkling. The part 5 completely encloses the leg up to the desired height, and has an elastic band or strap 7 to prevent slipping down. In a modification, the part 5 is slit down one side and provided with fastening devices, or is made of elastic material. Vertical strips of leather may be attached inside the part 5 to obviate wrinkling at the ankle.
