Abstract
258,756. Longbottom, H. H. Dec. 10, 1925. Reels or bobbins. - In metal tubes, spools, or bobbins used in the production of yarns and threads and for other purposes, the barrel part is turned down to fit snugly the disc flange 3, Fig. 2, and the cut away part 2<a> is flattened as at a to prevent rotation, the opening in the disc being shaped and tapered to correspond. The barrel is then secured to the flange by splaying outwards. Instead of the flange opening being tapered, it may be larger at the outer side at f, Fig. 6, and smaller at the inner side at g, so that the part 2b may be turned over to fit into the recess.
