Abstract
258,202. Fonderie et Robinetterie de Lyss, and Strehler, H. May 28, 1926. Wedging or jamming. -A plug cock which is pressed onto its seat by a spring 3 is actuated by a device which first moves the plug axially against the pressure of the spring. Two clutch parts 9, 10 connected to the spindle 4 and plug 2, are formed with recesses housing double-conical pins 12, the ends of which are rounded. When the spindle 4 is turned the pins are first tilted to exert an axial pressure on the plug, and the plug is then rotated. In a modification, cylindrical pins engage tapered recesses.
