Abstract

254,294. I.G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges., (Assignees of Farbwerke vorm. Meister, Lucius, & Br³ning). June 27, 1925, [Convention date]. Bz1-aminobenzanthronesulphonic acids. - Bz1-Nitrobenzanthrone is treated with alkali metal sulphites. The products which are probably Bz1-aminobenzanthronesulphonic acids are themselves dyestuffs and give red shades on wool, silk and acetate silk. According to an example Bz1-nitrobenzanthrone is boiled with sodiumbisulphite solution, acidified and the product salted out. Specification 12518/06 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that nitrobenzanthrones generally may be used in the process. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
