Abstract

253,458. Stewart, D. M. Feb. 13, 1926. Drawings to Specification. Filters with loose filtering-materials.-The main inlet connection of a pressure filter of the type comprising a closed shell having a strainer plate supporting a bed of sand, which is periodically cleaned by a return flow of wash water, is provided with a transparent fitting permitting of the inspection of the water actually flowing therethrough. The connection may have opposed apertures closed by glazed frames. The shell may have similar glazed apertures above the level of the bed so that the efficiency of the cleansing operation can be observed.
