A safety razor for blades of various widths comprises a guard plate C and cover plate D between which the blade is positioned and which are held together in definite relation by interengaging pins and perforations 0, the plates being adjustable laterally in relation to the blade by reason of slots in the plates engaging the studs of the usual outer securing-plate E, such studs also passing through the perforations in the blade. The blade is positioned in relation to the guard edge by lugs G on the cover plate engaging the blade edge.
