Abstract

250,034. Stevenson, W. April 30, 1925. Spray carburettors.-The nozzle 3, adapted to be controlled by a needle valve 4, is provided with an atomizer 6 located in a well or chamber 7 and adapted to break up the fuel before it enters the mixing chamber 8. The atomizer consists of a tubular member having a smooth bore to accommodate the needle valve 4, and an exterior formed as a series of ridges 6<B> the coned portions of which may be grooved or roughened as at 6<H>. The lower part of the atomizer 6<D> is bell-shaped interiorly, has orifices 6<G> for the outlet of fuel, and may be screwed or soldered to the top of the nozzle.
