Abstract
422,382. Precombustion chambers. DAIMLER-BENZ AKT.-GES., Untertiirkheim, Stuttgart, Germany. April 9, 1934, No. 10704. Convention date, April 8, 1933. [Class 7 (iii)] The cone angle of a fuel jet issuing from a nozzle g is substantially the same as that of a cone i in a precombustion chamber, so that the fuel flows along the surface of the cone. The cone i is carried by a core piece d connected by ribs to an insertion piece e, which is provided with vertical or helical ribs k, and separated from the cylinder head by spaces l, either completely shut off from the precombustion chamber or main combustion chamber, or in communication therewith. A widened part a<1> of the precombustion chamber, lined with an insertion m which is spaced from the wall by annular insulating spaces n<1>, n<2> surrounds the cone i, which may be made of catalytic material. The fuel nozzle is supplied with different fuels through passages h<1>, h<2>.
