243,475. Buckton, A. R., and Rose Bros. (Gainsborough), Ltd. Sept. 16, 1924. Boxes made from special blanks; fittings, internal.-Relates to folding boxes made from two pieces of cardboard one of which comprises a main front portion 1, Fig. 1, two ends portions 2, two vertical end flaps 4, two top end flaps 3 and two bottom end flaps 7 and the other of which include a back portion 8 secured to the flaps 4, a bottom portion 9, a supplementary front portion 10, a top portion 12 and a top portion flap 13. According to the invention the supplementary front portion 10 has a flap 11 and, in a box adapted to contain inverted gas mantles, Fig. 6, this flap 11 and two extensions 14, on the vertical end flaps 4 are cut away at 16 to form a platform for the lugs of the gas mantle; top and bottom flaps 5, 6 may be provided on the main front portion 1. The invention also comprises methods of assembling the box and securing the parts together by adhesive. In the case of the gas-mantle box a tab 17 may be provided for manipulating the top portion or lid 12.
