Folding-boxes made from special blanks.-A folding box or carton made from a single blank of the kind in which the four walls 2, 3 fold upwards from a central piece 1 constituting the bottom, the walls being connected by tongues and slots in such a way that the walls while remaining flat can fold down on or be raised from the bottom without disengaging the tongues and slots, has the portion of the blank outside each tongue 10 cut away, leaving the tongue standing out from the edge of the blank when laid flat, its base being at substantially 45‹ to the directions of the lines on which the walls fold. Strings z for erecting and carrying are provided and pass through notches 7 in the lid when a lid is provided. The blank may also be made in the form shown in Fig. 5.
