Abstract

540,533. Cartons. ROBIN, J. T. April 19, 1940, No. 7137. [Class 18] A carton or box for containing, e.g. a gas mantle, is made from a one-piece blank slit as at 10, 11 to form flaps foldable across transverse folding lines, their free-end portions 43, 50, 46 closely engaging the sides of slits or openings, tabs 43, 50 in a slit 45 and flap 46 in the slit formed by the juxtaposition of sections 19, 26. In erecting the box the first folding is about lines 35, 30, the next about lines 27, 28, 15, 16, and the next about lines 29, 20. 21, 47, tab 49 projecting outwardly from the rim of the box. The gas mantle may be further secured by a loose panel of cardboard engaging in the pocket beneath platform 31 over the forward lug of the mantle.
