Abstract
242,605. Semenov, I. A. Nov. 4, 1924, [Convention date]. Cigarette-making machines.-pparatus for delivering cigarettes in orderly arrangement from a continuous-rod machine comprises an endless belt 3. Fig. 3, passing over pulleys 5 and travelling at a speed greater than that of the rod. The speed of the belt is imparted to the cigarettes 1 by passing them beneath a pressure roller 4 driven from the pulley 5. The roller 4 is mounted on a lever 8 pivotally connected to a fixed arm 10 and is adjustable, relatively to the pulley 5, by a screw 11. The cigarettes are pushed laterally, in pairs, from the belt 3 by a pusher-bar 14, Fig. 1, the cigarettes being delivered respectively to a pair of endless belts such as 13 passing around common rollers 27, 28. The bar 14 is carried by a lever 15 pivoted at 16 to a slide 20, this slide being reciprocated horizontally by a roller 21 thereon engaging a cam groove 22 in a rotating disc 19. The lever 15 is rocked to raise the bar 14 during its inoperative stroke by a roller 17 engaging a second cam groove 18 in the disc 19. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) also states that the driving rollers of the belts 3, 13 and the disc 19 are driven by toothed gearing from the machine shaft, this gearing and the disc 19 being completely enclosed in casings such as 41. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
