Abstract
238,461. Priestley, C. S. Jan. 30, 1925. Envelopes.-An envelope for a stiffened or mounted photograph or other matter is provided on the back portion with an extension flap S having a gummed edge H, Fig. 2, to which one edge of the photograph &c. T is attached, the front and back portions of the envelope body R and the extension flap S being of approximately the same size as the photograph &c., so that when the extension flap and envelope body are superposed, as shown in Fig. 6, they form together a strut for supporting the photograph &c. T. To insert the photograph within the envelope, the back extension flap is doubled upon itself, as shown in Fig. 4, thereby enabing its upper edge flap H and the lower portion of the photograph to enter the envelope together, whereupon the extension flap is straightened and lies between the photograph and back of the envelope when the photograph is pushed down within the envelope. A gummed flap E on the front portion of the envelope is provided for sealing the enclosure during transmission.
