468,144. Envelopes. ELLENS, W. E., and DICKINSON & CO., Ltd., J. Jan. 21, 1936, No. 1934. [Class 146 (ii)] In an envelope adapted for sealing by the use of a self-adhesive material, the closure flap a<1> consists of an extended portion on one side of the mouth and carries a stripe a<11> of rubber latex adapted to be covered by folding the flap on itself, and the other coacting stripe of latex is on the opposite inside face of the mouth. During packing &c., the folded closure flap is folded inside the mouth of the envelope. When the envelope is to be used, the two stripes of latex are exposed to each other by pressing downwardly the folded portion of the flap as by inserting an enclosure into the envelope. The envelope shown is for cheap-rate postal transmission, and consists of a front portion a having an extension forming the closure flap, a narrow side flap c, a wider side flap d, and a bottom flap b which forms the back of the envelope and carries one of the stripes of latex on its inner upper surface. The flap d is not gummed to the flap b, so that it can be readily withdrawn to allow inspection of the contents of the envelope.
