Abstract

236,587. Soc. Lerolle et Cie. July 5, 1924, [Convention date]. Bearings, determining; directive signalling.-A transmitting station is arranged to emit alternately a directional and a non-directional wave. A double directed wave as well as a non-directed wave may be sent and a receiver of ordinary construction is employed, the bearing being determined by the relative intensities of the directed and the non-directed waves. The direction of the directed wave may be varied, the duration indicating the direction in which it is transmitted. The transmission may be by an aerial comprising a rotating wire bowed outwards by centrifugal force which is connected to the transmitter when pointing in the direction in which emission is desired. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the use of a trailing wire to give an initial top at each rotation on the determined direction and to send the non- directed wave. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
