Abstract

365,120. Indicating proximity of earth or other bodies. HOLLMANN, H. E., 54, Berliner Strasse, Charlottenburg, Berlin. July 11, 1930, No. 21065. Convention date, July 13, 1929. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 37.] The height of aircraft, or the distance of objects, is determined by transmitting a slightly diverging wireless beam and indicating maxima of received energy in a directional or other receiver located adjacent to or combined with the transmitter. The wavelength of transmitter and receiver is controlled synchronously by a single operating means. The transmitter may be modulated for telephonic reception. In one arrangement, as shown in the Figure, the transmitter S is located within a reflector R which concentrates the reflected beam on a receiver E located at its focal point.
