Abstract

Furs, skins, hairs, feathers and the like are dyed in fast olive-brown shades by treatment with 4-chlor-1 : 2-diaminobenzene in presence of an oxidizing agent. Skins may be previously mordanted. In an example the skin is mordanted in a bath containing acetic acid and copper sulphate or ferrous sulphate or copper sulphate and potassium bichromate and then handled in a bath containing the diamino-body and hydrogen peroxide.
