Abstract
Zinc a -phenylbiguanide is formed by heating at atmospheric or higher pressure an aqueous solution of a -phenylbiguanide with zinc oxide. It may also be prepared by precipitating from a cold or warm solution of a -phenylguanide, or its carbonate or carbamate, with an alkali zincate, or by heating a -phenylbiguanide with zinc hydrate in the presence or not of alkali, or by heating an aqueous solution of hydrochloride, sulphate, nitrate, carbonate or carbamate of a -phenylbiguanide with a soluble salt of zinc in the presence of excess of caustic alkali.
