Closed solid-fuel stoves; heat radiators; baffles. - A heatstoring central core of refractory material is provided in a stove, the lower part 1 of which extends to the bottom of the fuelspace whilst the upper part 2 extends close to the shell 3, from which it is spaced by bricks 6 so as to form one or more passages for the gases between the core and the shell. One or more gas passages opening into the space above the fireplace may be provided, either in the body of the core or in the form of grooves on its surface.
